Secondary texts adjacent to the ballplayer name him as Kinich ? Chan Ajaw. Costume elements (water lily, headband shell) may identify the ballplayer as God G-III a jaguar deity. Ball is named as 'Hun Ajaw' also known as god G-I.

Sahal or secondary site ruler holds a 'flapstaff' most frequently seen at another Usumacinta River site, Yaxchilan. The Sahal of El Cayo is a subsidiary of Ruler 5 at the major site of Piedras Negras. The initial Series date recording birth of Chok-4-Panak-Way is 44 days prior to Chok-Chan-Panak's father's accession and ~20 years before his own accession as Sahal on 1 Muluk 17 Sec, 9.17.1.5.9, AD 772.
